In a virtual setting it's all illusion a virtual character has no control to give, they either act as if it's consensual or not depending upon a player's wishes or actions. Rape vs consensual is a bit greyer, as in reality two partners could consensually agree to role-play a rape, which is just an illusion of control (as is BDSM etc.). But if you're compelled to do it, then that suggests a psychological issue (childhood trauma or such, I'm not a psychiatrist ). So the question is why you would choice to virtually force yourself upon a child? Not that forcing yourself on an adult is strictly better of course, but given the choice if you pick the child, then the question is why? It could be a perverse sense of curiosity, as it's something you might never dream of actually doing, and you might feel shame or guilt and never do it again. In a world where such a simulation exists, I think it's fair to assume that simulations with adults, and consensual situations would exist. Now, in the extreme example of pedophilia, the issue really is choice. This is where it gets a bit darker, as it could point to some kind of psychological problem if they compelled to do it because they needed to see it happen if so, there's an issue that needs to be addressed for that person, rather than satiated (as the virtual thrill might wear off).

Again though, disgust may be the point, as it's reinforcing just how driven the character is, that he doesn't baulk at actions that should horrify him. It's the same reason we might play assassins and pirates (or both at the same time) in games, it lets you be that other person for a while, which is fine too. They are playing to Kratos' character. How you react may reflect on it, and disgust at the action may be exactly the point. They are forced to, as in the case of the game, in which case there isn't really a moral choice at all. When it comes to Kratos burning a man alive, there are several possibilities for why a player might do it: The problem is if you do something in a virtual setting because you feel you have to (psychologically, as opposed to a game forcing you to). I think what it comes down to is why a player does something for most people games are just escapism, and that's fine and healthy.
